TEATA crafts; Kelim

Prior to the premiere of "Radio Sarajevo", the artist Sanja Lasić invites the audience to an open, participatory workshop inspired by traditional Bosnian kilim patterns.

A kilim is a woven rug featuring symbolic patterns. Visitors can colour in, alter and combine individual motifs, gradually creating a collaborative work of art that explores themes of memory, belonging, cultural heritage and displacement.

In her artistic practice, Lasić explores traditional craft techniques and symbols from Bosnia and Herzegovina, weaving together personal and collective narratives with experiences of war, migration and intergenerational memory.

Anyone unable to attend the workshop on the opening day will have another opportunity to do so on Saturday 31 October at 5.30 pm.
