Ich bin Ruth

Ruth Maier was born in Vienna in 1920. After her sister managed to flee to the UK, her mother and grandmother followed. Ruth alone decided to emigrate to Norway. She initially lived with a family, worked for the Women’s Labour Service, and it was there that she met and fell in love with Gunvor Hofmo, until she was arrested in November 1942, deported to Auschwitz and murdered.
