A loud, drunken scene, and in the middle: Barbi Marković with her father. A sports report about a childhood spent in the football stadium in Belgrade. A daughter who never became a football son. The football-loving men shout and weep. Neither emotion changes the outcome: Yugoslav flags will never wave in the stadium again. As family and country fall apart, Barbi Marković becomes a master of words — thanks to some Piksi dust.

Bérénice Hebenstreit stages Marković’s plea on behalf of the weak heroes and at the same time asks what sports reporting has in common with an environment that loves violence. Soundscape by Monobrother & B.visible. From stadium tristesse to the Maksmir myth.

The new TEATA in der Gumpendorfer will perform this production at Theater im Werk, Kabelwerk.

You can’t create this closeness between a father and a daughter through table tennis.
